Man’s Body Is Found in Ocean
Authorities are trying to identify the body of a fully clothed man found floating Friday morning about 400 yards from the mouth of Port Hueneme Harbor.
The man, who was wearing a white T-shirt, khaki pants and black athletic shoes, drowned during the past week, coroner’s officials said.
The body was spotted in the ocean just after 6 a.m. Friday by crew members aboard the Robytide, a boat that transports workers and supplies from the harbor to offshore oil rigs.
Ventura County sheriff’s detectives were at the scene shortly after the body was recovered but did not suspect foul play, spokesman Eric Nishimoto said.
