From Times Staff Reports
An electrical fire ripped through the attic at Margarita Jones, a landmark restaurant near the USC campus, early Friday, causing $75,000 damage, fire officials said.
One firefighter was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released, said Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Ninety-five firefighters fought the blaze at South Figueroa Street and 37th Place for half an hour before it was declared out at 3:20 a.m., Humphrey said.
