The Orange County Women’s Chorus will sing a “Women on the Verge” program, with works ranging from Hildegard of Bingen’s 12th-century religious meditations to Ruth Huber’s modern, Dixieland-inspired, “Big Dogs, Music and Wild, Wild Women.” The chorus, which was formed in 1998, also will sing works by British suffragette Dame Ethel Smyth, civil-rights songs from the United States and vocal pieces created by women interred in concentrations camps in Sumatra during World War II.
