Big Play

Diamondbacks’ second inning, bases loaded, one out (Diamondbacks lead, 1-0): This sure got the ball rolling, so to speak. After an intentional walk to Damian Miller, Randy Johnson hit a grounder to third baseman Scott Brosius that could have been an inning-ending double play. But Brosius hurried his throw home and catcher Jorge Posada, who had to stretch to keep a foot on the plate, could not make a throw to first. Two hits later, the Diamondbacks led, 3-0, giving Johnson all the support he would need.
