Gem Salesman Robbed in Parking Structure
A jewelry salesman told law enforcement officers he was robbed of $350,000 in gems Tuesday while making a delivery to Nordstrom at The Shops at Mission Viejo.
The salesman, who was not identified, was not injured during the 1:45 p.m. heist on the second floor of the parking structure, investigators said. He told officers he was removing a bag of jewelry from the trunk of his car when one of three robbers pointed a gun at him. After taking the jewelry, the suspects fled in a white minivan, according to Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
