Saturday Drive: I have a new baby, a 6-month-old, beautiful little girl, Tu, so I think the first thing would be to wake up late with her and my wife (actress Debbon Ayer) and walk along the beach. Maybe we’d drive up to Santa Barbara and check in to some place like the Four Seasons. We love to check into some great hotel and be lazy and pampered and get massages, spa stuff. Take a good book. Have a great bottle of wine. And, hopefully, my wife will let me smoke a cigar.

Eat Well: It’s all about good meals, for sure. Every stop would be about a good restaurant. Matsuhisa, the Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills, is great. The chef’s like an artist. It’s extraordinary. It’s such quality food and well-presented dishes, as well as just great sushi. I like the spicy tuna rolls, but depending on my mood, they have all kinds of funky Japanese dishes that I like. Giorgio Baldi, in Santa Monica, is really kind of a genius. Some would say the best Italian food in Los Angeles. All the pastas are good, and they have great wine.

Shaken? Stirred? Surreal?: Musso & Frank is one of my favorite restaurants in L.A.. It’s closed two days a week! Tell me a restaurant that can afford that. The sand dabs are great, and they make one of the best Caesar salads. I actually had my first martini there. Luis Bunuel was reportedly fastidious about his martini, and there’s one named after him that [playwright] Jon Robin Baitz introduced to me at Musso’s in 1985.

Big Picture: Movies are a big part of my life. I like going to big movie theaters where there are lots of people and they’re excited, so there’s a lot of energy in the house. I love everything from “Monsters, Inc.” to “Amelie.”

The Power of Place: Any excuse to go up to the Getty, up on the hill there. Sometimes we’ll go up there just to hang out. It’s so cool. There’s such an energy in the architecture and the location.
