The 25th Doo Dah Parade will make its annual romp through Old Town Pasadena. Beginning in 1978 as a spoof of the Rose Parade, the Doo Dah has earned a singular reputation with such offbeat attractions as the Synchronized Briefcase Drill Team, the Lounge Lizards and Snotty Scotty & the Hankies.

The Arroyo Arts Collective, a grass-roots community artists’ organization, will stage its ninth annual Discovery Tour: Palette to Palate. The self-guided tour of artists’ studios and eateries in Highland Park, Eagle Rock and Mount Washington will begin at the Charles Lummis Home, where maps will be available and artisans will display crafts. This year’s artistic attractions range from traditional paintings to computer-generated art on view in storefronts, garages and landmark Craftsman-style houses.
