An Anaheim man was arrested early Friday after two patrons at a bar were shot, police said.
Ricardo Benjamin Vargas, 26, was being held on $250,000 bail at the City Jail. Police Lt. Don Klein said Vargas is suspected of firing several shots in the parking lot of La Isla bar on North State College about 1:30 a.m., then speeding away.
One bullet grazed a 23-year-old Placentia woman, who was treated at a local hospital and released. A 24-year-old Huntington Park man was shot several times in the upper torso. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in critical condition Friday, authorities said.
An officer saw Vargas leaving the bar, followed and arrested him. A small-caliber handgun was found in the car, police said.
