* USC/Norris Cancer Hospital needs volunteers to provide extra support and encouragement to cancer patients and their families during treatment. Services include greeting patients and visitors, delivering the morning paper, working in the gift shop, helping admit and discharge patients and serving as a docent conducting tours. * Komen Los Angeles County Race for the Cure needs volunteers to distribute entry information around Los Angeles County and to assist on site at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on race day, Nov. 4. The Race for the Cure benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Information: (626) 577-2700.
