Made famous by David Lean’s epic film, “The True Story of the Bridge on the River Kwai” (tonight at 8 p.m., History Channel) takes a look at the role played by prisoners of war in the construction of the Thailand-Burma Railway during World War II.

Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz star in the Farrelly brothers’ comedy “There’s Something About Mary,” (Sunday at 7:30 p.m., Fox).
