LaBonge Takes Council Oath on Mt. Hollywood
From Times Staff Reports
Tom LaBonge drove to the top of Mt. Hollywood on Tuesday to take the oath of office for the Los Angeles City Council.
“It’s the heart of the city,” said LaBonge, an avid hiker. “I’m very honored to be a member of the City Council.”
City Clerk Mike Carey gave the oath after the council certified LaBonge as the winner of last week’s election for the 4th District seat.
A few friends and family members attended the private ceremony. LaBonge plans a public swearing-in for 3 p.m. Thursday at Griffith Park Observatory.
