Sam Calhoun of Westchester intercepted three passes and also caught a 48-yard touchdown pass as the Comets defeated Hamilton, 36-22, in a Western League game at Hamilton.
Arthur Giddens of Los Angeles Manual Arts completed 14 of 19 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 114 yards in eight carries in the Toilers’ 46-42 victory over Los Angeles Jordan. Thomas Bonam, intercepted two passes and caught a 60-yard touchdown pass.
Dell Hester of Jordan rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown, caught five passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score.
Keith Ellison of Redondo Union rushed for 214 yards in 19 carries and passed for 105 yards in a 31-28 loss to Beverly Hills.
