Jockey Rodrigo Aceves wouldn’t mind wrapping up another week of racing at Los Alamitos with the same kind of night he had on Friday.

Aceves, 31, won a career-high four times, taking the first with Grim Fandango, the fourth with Royal Ladys Reward, then winning with Ddf de Great Saiga in the fifth and Rhymer in the ninth.

Through Friday, Aceves was third in the standings behind Ramon Sanchez and Alex Bautista with 31 quarter horse wins.

Jockey Duane Brown is in the intensive care unit of the Los Alamitos Medical Center after being injured in a training accident Thursday morning.

Brown suffered a fractured skull when an Arabian he was galloping bolted suddenly, throwing him to the ground. The animal then stepped on him. Brown is expected to be hospitalized for a few more days.
