From Times Wire Reports

Lawyers for Yosemite killer Cary Stayner on Monday sought to bar his confession from his triple-murder trial, pressing two FBI agents for details on how he was arrested.

On the third day of a hearing on whether the FBI improperly obtained Stayner’s confession, his defense lawyer asked when Stayner was read his Miranda rights, when he knew he was under arrest and how the FBI got a search warrant for his car.

Echoing the testimony of other agents, Agent John Boles said Stayner appeared willing to talk even after being read his rights.

Stayner has admitted killing Yosemite National Park sightseers Carole Sund; her daughter, Juli; their friend Silvina Pelosso; and park guide Joie Armstrong.

Stayner pleaded guilty to Armstrong’s murder and is serving a life term. He could be executed if convicted of the other deaths.
