Casitas Dam Emergency Sirens to Be Tested
From Times Staff Reports
The county Office of Emergency Services will test the 11 emergency warning sirens at Casitas Dam beginning at noon today.
For 10 minutes, residents in the area stretching from Casitas Springs south along Ventura Avenue to the ocean will hear a series of chimes, sirens and voice test messages. The voice messages will be in English and Spanish.
The test is one of four that occur throughout the year on the second Wednesday of the month. The next one is scheduled for July.
