Conejo School District to Limit Homework Load
From Times Staff Reports
Responding to parents’ complaints that schoolwork left their children little time for sports, church or family, the Conejo Valley Unified School District is cutting down on homework.
The school board tentatively approved a new policy this week and will take a final vote May 14.
The new policy sets time limits for homework: students in kindergarten through second grade, up to 20 minutes; third through fifth grades, 30 to 50 minutes; middle school, 60 to 90 minutes; and high school, 90 to 120 minutes.
