Stitching Together a Week of Promise

New York designer Anthony Castro’s new collection, V, didn’t break new ground, but it was immensely wearable, with sexy wool and jersey separates with lots of motocross style.

A chocolate tweed cycle jacket and matching skinny tweed pants with zippers at the ankles, worn over a charmeuse peach floral halter top, spoke to the biker chick aesthetic.

There were zippers at the pockets of black wool stretch pants and up the sides of a black and charcoal striped skirt, too. But the details were subtle enough to keep the clothes from looking costume-y.

Castro said he came to L.A., where he does a third of his business, to rev up excitement for the new collection. But he plans to show in New York next season.
