Coach George Karl apologized to Sen. Herb Kohl, the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, and to the fans for missing the playoffs.

Karl said the Bucks’ bevy of injuries wasn’t the only reason the team went from Eastern Conference favorite to the draft lottery.

He blamed himself for not meshing a star-studded team with one of the five highest payrolls in the NBA.

“I think I let Sen. Kohl down and I think we let the city of Milwaukee down,” Karl said.

The Bucks ended the season with a 123-89 loss at Detroit last week.
