Garden Grove police are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman with Alzheimer’s disease who has been missing for more than a week.

Ba Thi Tran, 65, took a stroll on July 29 and has not been seen since, police said Monday.

“She has nothing on that identifies herself,” said Elaine Jordan, an investigator for the Garden Grove Police Department. “Sometimes she’s lucid enough to identify herself and sometimes she can’t.”

Tran wandered off from the apartment she shares with her husband. She was without her medication, dentures, purse or identification bracelet. Among other things, police and relatives said, she has no means of transportation, credit cards or cellular phone.

Tran, who is Vietnamese and speaks no English, was last seen about 10 a.m. July 29 wearing a white blouse and pants suit with a white hat. She is 5 feet, 2 inches, walks with a slight hunch, has short, graying black hair and dark eyes, and may be carrying less than $10, relatives say.

Anyone with information on Tran’s whereabouts is asked to call Jordan at (714) 741-5815.
