Care for Your Animals

I was afraid to read the article “No Stray Is Too Mangy for a St. Francis of the Mean Streets” (by Daniel Guss, Metropolis, July 28) because I saw the photo and its caption first. But after glancing at the headline, I knew it was going to be positive. Animal control officer Armando J. Navarrette is a saint, that’s for sure. His words parallel what I and other animal supporters believe: Animals in danger are the result of a person who either beat them, neglected them, didn’t spay or neuter them, or just stopped caring about them.
