Rounding up more Ranches

So Larry Pollack’s in the process of turning the Saddle Ranch Chop House, his hit bar and restaurant on the Sunset Strip, into an international franchise. The Western-themed nightclub, famous for its cheap prices, enormous food portions and rockin’ mechanical bull, became an instant smash when it opened in ’99. With the second Saddle Ranch Chop House scheduled to open in April at Universal CityWalk, Pollack says he plans to build 150 Saddle Ranch venues around the globe, and that’s no bull....Promoter James Stone says he’s getting wild on New Year’s Eve. The Fetish Ball promoter has invited singer Nina Hagen to perform at this year’s Liberation Ball at L.A.’s El Rey Theatre. Performance artist Lydia Lunch plans to DJ the ball.... In more New Year’s Eve extravaganzas, the Sunset Room is plotting a special performance by the sexy Toledo Show, with chef Andrew Pastore of the Pig’n Whistle brewing up a special menu featuring steak, lobster and caviar.... In addition, a special Club Make-Up/Club Cherry New Year’s event is scheduled for the Hollywood Athletic Club, which plans multiple dance rooms featuring DJs from L.A.’s hottest weekly dance clubs.... And speaking of hot weekly clubs, Tiger Heat, the gay pop club at the Hollywood Athletic Club on Thursday nights, is holding an Anna Nicole Smith “Christmas Special” on Dec. 12. Figures, Bobby Trendy’s a regular.... And Beat It!, the Sunday-night dance party at the Ruby, is throwing a Siouxsie and the Banshees record release party on Sunday. Jeepers!

DJ Barry Weaver, host of the smokin’ San Diego electroclash club Electrolux, will guest DJ at Synthetic Friday night at the Echo in Echo Park.... In more dance club news, the 7969 club in WeHo’s new Saturday-night dance club Heartthrob, held a blowout party for Kelly Osbourne’s new CD last weekend! ... One of our favorite drag-queen rock bands, the White Trash Debutantes, is blowing things out tonight at the Old Towne Pub in Pasadena. Also on the bill is the Transexpistols....

DJ-promoter Daniel Djang says U.K. DJ Jonathan Lisle can be found spinning tonight at Habitual, a cool Thursday-night club at Sugar in Santa Monica. Lisle’s throwing down a three-hour set, so line up early.... Look for Red Light, a new back-alley club at Deep on Wednesday nights, hosted by owner Ivan Kane and Nico Golfar. In more Deep news, the nightclub is celebrating its second anniversary Tuesday with an erotic glammed-up bash.... The dinner-and-a-movie-themed nightclub Cinespace is offering a private preview party tonight, with plans to open its doors officially on Jan. 4. Don’t worry, we’re crashing.... Bring out your glitter platforms cuz Dragstrip 66 is plotting “Studio 66: A Disco Christmas Fantasy” on Dec. 14 at Rudolpho’s in Silver Lake. Drag artist Varla Jean Merman’s hosting this rager.
