Death by LAPD

Re “Officers Linked to Death of Teen,” Dec. 8: When Los Angeles Police Department officers Mario Rios and Michael Montoya dropped that kid off in the turf of a rival gang, they were trying to kill him. They did it to him twice, and on the second attempt their murder of the teen was successful. They used the rival gang as the murder weapon.

There is no statute of limitations on murder. The fact that the LAPD and the district attorney were investigating the officers only for “obstructing justice” instead of murder is emblematic of the corrupt effort of Los Angeles’ officialdom to get the Rampart scandal behind it.
