From Times Wire Reports

Tim Stoen, once legal advisor to Jim Jones, who presided over the Jonestown mass suicide in Guyana, is to be Humboldt County assistant district attorney. Dist. Atty.-elect Paul Gallegos said Stoen, a prosecutor in Mendocino County, is his choice.

Stoen, 64, was Jones’ legal advisor in the late 1970s when Jones’ Peoples Temple was in San Francisco. Stoen’s 6-year-old son was one of more than 900 people who died in the 1978 mass suicide.
