Funds Allocated for Bighorn Sheep Project

Ventura County’s bighorn sheep received a boost when the Board of Supervisors this week decided to spend $2,740 to help state wildlife researchers restore the herd.
Given up for dead, bighorns were discovered in the rugged backcountry above Fillmore three years ago. Biologists have been working to expand their numbers, which are estimated at more than a dozen of the animals.
