Dvorak Trade Might Be the Next Move

Share

Mighty Duck officials have talked with the New York Rangers about acquiring right wing Radek Dvorak.

Dvorak, who played for Duck General Manager Bryan Murray in Florida, has fallen out of favor in New York. He has three goals and 13 points this season. Dvorak, who will make $1.575 million this season, scored 31 goals in 2000-01 and 17 in 2001-02.

Ranger officials have become increasingly frustrated with Dvorak’s play. Coach Bryan Trottier said Dvorak played “scared to death” in last Saturday’s loss to Detroit. Trottier later apologized to Dvorak.

Duck left wing Mike Brown said he would try to keep his emotions in check tonight against Vancouver. The Ducks claimed Brown off waivers from the Canucks in October.

“Obviously, I want to show them what I could have brought to their team,” Brown said. “At the same time, I want to show the Ducks what I can bring.

“You need a good balance of excitement and energy, as long as you keep a level head, so you can play your game.”
