David Robinson may be shaking out of his season-long slump.

Robinson had a season-high 27 points--14 coming in the fourth quarter and overtime--with eight rebounds and seven blocked shots as the San Antonio Spurs stopped a three-game losing streak by beating the Orlando Magic, 105-98, Sunday at Orlando, Fla.

Tim Duncan added 29 points, including a crucial three-point play in overtime, and 15 rebounds as the Spurs rallied from a four-point deficit in the final 45 seconds of regulation.

Robinson entered the game averaging 11 points and eight rebounds as age and nagging injuries have taken their toll. But his teammates and coach say they’ve seen a fresher, better center in recent days.

“When he gets rolling, everything gets a little bit easier,” Duncan said. “We didn’t play well, but he picked us up and took us over the top.”

Spur Coach Gregg Popovich said: “David has been playing better and better as the season moves along. He seems to be getting into gear, and that’s definitely a big plus for our team.”

Tracy McGrady had 26 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for Orlando. He took a career-high 36 shots, making only 12.

San Antonio tied it at 90 in regulation on Steve Smith’s three-point basket with 8.3 seconds to go.

Washington 109, Indiana 89--Michael Jordan scored 23 points, and Richard Hamilton had 21 in his first start in six weeks at Washington as the Wizards finally beat the Pacers.

The Wizards had lost six in a row and 15 of 16 games to the Pacers, including a 108-81 loss on Dec. 27, when Jordan scored a career-low six points.

The Wizards never trailed and took control with an 18-2 run late in the third quarter.

Jordan and Jalen Rose received double technical fouls with 4:11 left as they jawed while running down the court. Jordan had to be restrained by Coach Doug Collins, and Rose was ejected because it was his second technical of the game. Rose had been the Pacers’ best scoring threat in the second half, scoring 22 of his 27 points after halftime.

Hamilton, who missed 17 games because of a groin injury, had been a reserve in his first two games back.
