QE2 Renews Package With Concorde Jet

Share

Cunard is renewing a package that lets passengers cruise across the Atlantic on the Queen Elizabeth 2 liner and return on the Concorde supersonic jet.

In November, British Airways returned the Concorde to service after a 15-month hiatus that followed a Concorde crash that killed 113 near Paris. Air France, which flies the jet between New York’s JFK airport and Paris, also renewed flights that month. The airlines said they had installed more durable tires and fuel tank liners to avoid a repeat of the crash.

Cunard said it is the largest purchaser of Concorde seats on the London-to-New York route. Package prices start at $3,344 per person, double occupancy, for the six-day cruise between New York and Southampton, England, plus a return trip on the Concorde--which is less than the regular round-trip fare on the Concorde announced in November.
