A 63-year-old man was fatally injured and his dog was hurt Monday when a pickup truck hit them as they crossed Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, police said.
Paul Reilly of Huntington Beach was walking to the beach at Brookhurst Street about 1:30 p.m. when the truck hit him and his small dog, said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Ron Burgess.
Reilly died at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Burgess said. The dog was not seriously injured, police said.
The truck’s driver, Arthur Dominguez, 60, of Nuevo, was not injured. He was not arrested or cited, pending an investigation.
