Krivokrasov Back on Ice

Share

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Mighty Ducks put Sergei Krivokrasov back in the lineup Friday against the Minnesota Wild, hoping to find someone to boost their offense. Krivokrasov, acquired in a Nov. 1 trade with the Wild, had been a healthy scratch the previous 12 games.

His lengthy inactive stretch was mostly due to the defensive liability he has been at times. Krivokrasov was a minus-three in his last start against Columbus on Dec. 14.

“It was frustrating,” Krivokrasov said. “You have a bad game, you want to make up for it the next. I know I was a minus-three in my last game. I played a bad game. But you always want to come out strong the next time.” Duck Coach Bryan Murray, whose team has scored 12 goals in its last seven games, is searching for any offensive spark, so he juggled his lines and reinserted Krivokrasov.

Krivokrasov, who didn’t have a shot in eight minutes of ice time, has one goal in 16 games with the Ducks.

“I’m just looking for a different look,” Murray said. “We’re going to give Krivo a few games here, get him back into the routine. He has to play the way he is capable of playing, but make sure he is responsible defensively as well.”
