Wells Helps Sink Kings

Bonzi Wells scored eight of his career-high 34 points in overtime and the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Sacramento Kings, 116-110, Tuesday night at Portland, Ore., ending the Kings’ 12-game winning streak.

Rasheed Wallace had 33 points and 15 rebounds for Portland, and Dale Davis had 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Chris Webber had 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for Sacramento. Mike Bibby had 27 points and Peja Stojakovic had 21.

Dallas 113, Houston 107--Steve Nash had 31 points at Houston and the Mavericks won their fifth in a row.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and Juwan Howard had 19 for the Mavericks, who have won eight of nine.

Cuttino Mobley led the Rockets with 35 points and Steve Francis had 25.

Miami 92, Chicago 79--Rod Strickland scored 20 points and moved into seventh place on the NBA’s career assist list with 7,217, and host Miami won for the sixth consecutive time.

Eddie Jones scored 20 points for the Heat, which won for the ninth time in 11 games.

Ron Artest scored 24 points for Chicago.

Orlando 100, Atlanta 86--Pat Garrity had a season-high 23 points for the Magic at Orlando.

Garrity had three of Orlando’s eight three-point baskets. Darrell Armstrong scored 15 points.

Jacque Vaughn and Hanno Mottola each scored 14 points for the Hawks, who have lost seven of eight.

Phoenix 92, Milwaukee 81--Shawn Marion had 24 points and 17 rebounds, and Phoenix capitalized on the Bucks’ 0-for-15 shooting from three-point range at Milwaukee.

Milwaukee had an eight-game winning streak ended. Sam Cassell led the Bucks with 24 points.

Philadelphia 91, Washington 84--Allen Iverson scored 22 of his 34 points in the second half to lead the 76ers at Washington.

Michael Jordan had 28 points on 13-for-19 shooting in the first half, but he was one of eight in the second half and finished with 30 points.

Eric Snow had 19 points and Aaron McKie had 18 for the 76ers.

Tyronn Lue scored 19 points for the Wizards.

New Jersey 92, San Antonio 86--Jason Kidd had 28 points and 11 rebounds at San Antonio, and the Nets swept the season series from the Spurs.

Keith Van Horn scored 17 points for the Nets and Lucious Harris had 12. Tim Duncan had 32 points and 14 rebounds for San Antonio.
