Cal Lutheran to Host Civil Rights Lecture
Cal Lutheran University will host a free lecture by civil rights activist Eric Mann at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Overton Hall.
Mann is director of the Labor/Community Strategy Center in Los Angeles and a leader of the Bus Riders Union, which spearheaded a civil rights lawsuit that produced a federal court order in 1996 requiring the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to improve its bus system. Mann will discuss “The Power of One--How One Individual Can Make a Difference.”
The university also is featuring an exhibit in Pearson Library reflecting the thoughts of Cal Lutheran students on how they can make the world a better place.
The exhibit will be on display through Thursday. Viewing hours are 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
The campus is at 60 W. Olsen Road. For more information, call 493-3323.
