Burbank--The Starlight Bowl will host a Fourth of July concert starring the Tonight Show All-Star Band with guest vocalist Gloria Loring, followed by a fireworks display. Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Drive. 6 p.m. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. $16. (818) 525-3721.

Hollywood Bowl--Americana rules at the Target July 4th salute to America’s birthday. Award-winning composer John Williams leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and James Taylor will sing along in this patriotic program that includes Sousa marches and a fireworks display. Lake View Terrace--The Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor a Fourth of July celebration featuring live music, including opera, pop, ethnic folk and country-western, plus food and fireworks, at the Hansen Dam Recreation Area. Long Beach--The Queen Mary will be the site of a four-day weekend carnival of activities (today, noon-11 p.m.; Friday-Sunday, 1-11 p.m.) that includes food, displays, entertainment, dancing under the stars, plus admission to the Scorpion submarine and the Queen Mary’s “Behind the Scenes” guided tour and its self-guided “Ghosts & Legends” tour. The fireworks spectacular takes place today only. The fireworks are visible from across Long Beach Harbor, while those aboard the ship will hear a special musical score. Pasadena--A ticket to the Rose Bowl tonight gets you two shows in one: a match between the L.A. Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes and a 15-minute fireworks spectacular after the final whistle. Studio City--The Fourth of July Picnic and Fireworks Spectacular at the CBS Studio Center begins with a country music concert including Chris Cagle and Tommy Walker and the C.A. Worship Band. This fourth annual event benefits Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children. There will be skateboard, taiko drumming and martial arts demonstrations as well as an antique car show. A fireworks display will close the evening. Valencia--Strictly USA, a salute to patriotism at Magic Mountain, will feature jazz, ‘80s rock and country bands throughout the day, with balloon sculptors, face painters and performers throughout the park. The day will be capped with 15 minutes of red, white and blue fireworks choreographed to patriotic tunes. West Covina--Ambitious Americans in West Covina will start the day with a 5K walk at 7 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast, but that’s just for starters. Woodland Hills--The Valley Cultural Center presents its first fireworks show set to live music. KBIG-FM personality Charlie Tuna will host the festivities, which include the LA Hip Kids, the Bob Dylan tribute band Highway 61 Revisited and 1960s recording artists the We Five. Anaheim--Disneyland’s nightly fireworks show, “Believe ... There’s Magic in the Stars,” runs overtime tonight with a patriotic finale.
