2 Men Arrested, 2 Sought in Alleged Cocaine Ring

Two Simi Valley men have been arrested for their alleged role in a cocaine sales operation, police said, and two more suspects are believed to have fled the state.

After a four-month investigation by the Simi Valley police narcotics unit, Refugio Perez Fernandez, 28, was booked on four counts of cocaine sales and one count of possession of an assault rifle. Fernandez also was charged with three counts of child endangerment after police saw Fernandez’s children accompany him while he allegedly sold drugs, according to police.

Miguel Valdez Lopez, 47, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession and for removing serial numbers from a shotgun. He was later cited and released. The two other suspects are believed to be in Colorado, police said.

During the investigation, detectives bought cocaine from the men six times, authorities said.

The street value of the seized cocaine is about $12,000, according to police.
