Naked Driver Runs Over Officer in Marathon
The route for the Suzuki Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon had to be altered Sunday after a naked man driving a sport-utility vehicle ran over and dragged a police officer while running a roadblock set up for the marathon, officials said.
Several officers fired at the driver, who was then dragged from his vehicle. The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. along the route of the marathon, which attracted more than 20,000 runners.
Neither the officer nor the driver suffered major injuries, officials said. The marathon route was changed so that officers could examine the shooting scene.
