A look at some of the top Southlandl prospects for Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft, today and Wednesday:

SERGIO SANTOS

Shortstop, Santa Ana Mater Dei High

The smooth-fielding, power-hitting infielder has signed with USC. Santos, 6 feet 3 and 200 pounds, hit over .500 on the varsity as a freshman at Hacienda Heights Los Altos before transferring to Mater Dei. He batted .440 with eight home runs and 29 RBIs as a sophomore; hit .448 with three homers, 23 RBIs and 18 stolen bases as a junior; and batted .372 with eight homers, 34 RBIs and 14 stolen bases this season.

SCOTT MOORE

Shortstop, Cypress High

Moore, 6 feet 2 and 180 pounds, who has signed with Cal State Fullerton, finished his high school career with a .385 batting average, 26 home runs and 74 runs batted in. A preseason All-American, he didn’t disappoint, batting .329 with 11 home runs and 25 RBIs this year.

ANTHONY REYES

Right-handed pitcher, USC

The junior has a 4-1 record with a 3.26 earned-run average for the Trojans, who will play Stanford in a best-of-three NCAA super-regional beginning Friday. Reyes, 6-1 and 205, has U.S. national team experience. He played at Whittier California High, going 7-1 with a 1.61 ERA as a senior.

GREG MILLER

Left-handed pitcher, Anaheim Esperanza High

After signing with California, Miller helped the Aztecs reach the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division I playoffs, where he lost to Lakewood, 2-0. Miller, 6-5 and 175, struck out 137 batters this season and walked only 20. He finished with a 9-4 record, along with four saves, after going 4-1 as a junior.

BILL MURPHY

Left-handed pitcher, Cal State Northridge

Murphy experienced a wild outing on Saturday, when he walked nine and hit two batters in four innings in a 7-5 NCAA regional loss to host USC that ended the Matadors’ season at 41-17. A 6-1, 190-pound junior, Murphy had a 9-4 record, a 3.55 ERA and 129 strikeouts this season. Last season, he was 10-4 with 86 strikeouts. He was 13-1 with 136 strikeouts as a senior at Riverside Arlington High.
