House OKs Nevada’s Inclusion of Utah City
WASHINGTON, D.C.
The House approved a measure that would allow Wendover, Utah, and West Wendover, Nev., to unite as one city in Nevada if approved by local voters and both state legislatures.
The two cities are located where Interstate 80 crosses the Nevada-Utah state line. Legal casino gambling occurs on the Nevada side, but not in Utah.
The House approved a compact between Nevada and Utah necessary to change the states’ boundaries. It would allow moving the Nevada state line about three miles into Utah, shifting about 10,000 acres from Utah to Nevada.
