The heartiest platter for the meat lover.

Carlitos Gardel: This Argentine bistro serves its mixed grill on a brazier filled with hot coals. It’s skirt steak, short ribs, Argentine sausage (like a mild Italian sausage), blood sausage and sweetbreads, with mashed potatoes or garlic French fries on the side. (Mixed grill, $32.90.) Pampas Grill: The Brazilian churrasco here includes skewered lamb, garlicky sirloin cap, bacon-wrapped chicken breast and Brazilian pork sausage, to name just a few. At the buffet-salad bar you can choose from more than 20 items, including collard greens, black beans, fried yuca (a starchy root) and hearts of palm salad. Gaucho Grill: This chain offers a mixed appetizer of short ribs, sweetbreads, Argentine sausage and black sausage. There’s also a plato mixto entree: half a chicken, a skirt steak, short ribs, Argentine sausage, black sausage, sweetbreads, saffron rice and salad. (Mixed appetizer, $9.95; plato mixto, $28.95.) Csardas: The “wooden plate” is heaped with deep-fried duck, a breaded veal cutlet, chicken breast and veal liver along with a grilled pork chop and Hungarian sausage. Lala’s: This generous mixed grill is two grilled Argentine sausages, sweetbreads, a New York steak, a skirt steak, half a chicken and, for a little roughage, mixed green salad. (Mixed grill, $26.95.) Lou’s Oak Oven Barbecue: The “Early California plate” is linguica sausage, tri-tip, a quarter chicken and a choice of pinquito beans, salad, coleslaw or soup.
