AVENGERS TONIGHT
at Grand Rapids, 4:30 PDT
Site--Van Andel Arena.
Radio--KMPC (1540).
Records--Avengers 4-4, Rampage 5-3.
Record vs. Rampage (2000)--0-1.
Update--Both teams are coming off humbling defeats. Los Angeles was pounded, 52-33, by San Jose, its second consecutive loss. Grand Rapids was trampled by New Jersey, 70-42, ending its four-game winning streak. But the Rampage is the defending Arena league champion and knows what it takes to make the playoffs. The Avengers are still trying to find their way into the postseason. Los Angeles quarterback Tony Graziani (166 of 283, 40 touchdowns, nine interceptions), needs 157 yards and six touchdowns to set single-season team records. Receiver Greg Hopkins (58 receptions, 716 yards, 14 touchdowns) is on pace for his third consecutive 100-catch season. Offensive specialist Chris Jackson did not make the trip because of an injured right hamstring. Rampage quarterback Clint Dolezel has completed 197 of 280 passes (70.4%) for 46 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.
