Tom Fontana, creator and executive producer of HBO’s prison drama, “Oz,” will be among the honorees at a benefit dinner Saturday at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. The benefit will salute the 10th anniversary of the Media Action Network for Asian Americans, an advocacy group promoting the image of Asian Americans in film and television.
The event, with hosts Lauren Tom of “The Joy Luck Club” and Eddie Shin of “That ‘80s Show,” will also honor Paul and Chris Weitz, executive producers of the WB’s “Off Centre” and the two “American Pie” movies.
The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Tickets, $50 to $100, can be purchased at the door.
