Phil Mickelson became the first repeat winner in Greater Hartford Open history Sunday, holing a sand wedge for eagle and scrambling home at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

Mickelson, second last week in the U.S. Open, made a five-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a six-under 64 and a one-stroke victory over Jonathan Kaye and Davis Love III.

Mickelson was on the putting green with wife Amy and their two young daughters when Kaye pushed a 13-foot birdie try to the right on the par-four 18th hole to end his chances.

Mickelson finished at 14-under 266, two strokes higher than his total last year, and earned $720,000 for his 21st tour title.

Love closed with a 67, and Kaye, the third-round leader at 13 under, shot a 70 that included a 90-yard shot for eagle on the par-five 13th.

Trailing by three shots with three holes to play, Karrie Webb beat faltering Mi Hyun Kim by one stroke when she bogeyed the final hole at the LPGA Rochester International at Pittsford, N.Y.

Webb closed with a four-under-par 68 and a 12-under 276 total and won $180,000 to push her career earnings past $8 million.

The 25-year-old Kim, who began the day with a five-shot lead over Webb, had a two-over 74 and a 277 as she finished second for the second week in a row.

J.C. Snead made a 10-foot par putt on the 18th hole to avert a four-way playoff and win the Greater Baltimore Classic at Hunt Valley, Md., by one stroke, ending a record victory drought of almost seven years.

Snead never led in the final round until his last shot dropped into the cup, clinching his first victory since 1995 and earning him the winner’s check of $217,500.

Snead, who started the day tied atop the leaderboard with Rodger Davis, shot a two-under-par 70 for a 13-under 203 total.

John Mahaffey, Doug Tewell and Bobby Wadkins finished one shot back.
