Jackson Nephew, 78, Dies at Maple Leaf Ceremony
The nephew of former Toronto Maple Leaf player Harvey “Busher” Jackson collapsed during a pregame ceremony at Toronto and died Saturday night. He was 78.
Art Jackson collapsed just as he was being introduced during the ceremony that honored the top 25 players in Maple Leafs’ history. Jackson was representing his deceased uncle.
The game between Toronto and the Buffalo Sabres was delayed for 35 minutes.
The Maple Leafs’ doctor worked on Jackson for at least 10 minutes before he was taken off on a stretcher.
Harvey “Busher” Jackson, who died in 1966, was the only Maple Leaf player chosen to the NHL first team twice.
