Man’s Abduction May Be Drug-Related
Authorities on Tuesday searched for a 30-year-old man and the group of men who apparently abducted him in a possibly drug-related act, police said. Shortly before 3 p.m., five or six men forced Calvin Hardy from his mother’s Long Beach home in the 100 block of West Mountain View Street, said Long Beach police Officer Jana Blair.
The assailants, who were unarmed, apparently knew Hardy, police said. They beat him as they dragged him into a white van, Blair said.
Hardy is 6 feet, 1 inch and weighs 170 pounds, she said. Anyone who has seen the suspects, the van or Hardy was asked to call police at (562) 435-6711.
