Oak Hill’s Tony Green benefited from a final-lap crash to take the 100-lap Jani-King Super Late Model Series feature race to open the season at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night in front of 5,424 fans.

Green, who was in third place, took the lead when the first two cars, driven by Sean Woodside and Brandon Loverock, collided going into Turn 3.

Brent Reynolds and Rod Johnson finished second and third, respectively.

On the checkered flag, Loverock, who fell to 14th, pulled alongside Woodside and traded words with him. Woodside responded by turning his car into the back of Loverock’s.

Mike May won the 40-lap American Race Truck Series race.

Bret Carlson of Quartz Hill was held overnight for observation at Arcadia Methodist Hospital after crashing head first into a wall near the entrance lane off Turn 2.
