3 Wounded in Shooting Cross-Fire in Pacoima
A woman, her young daughter and another girl were injured Sunday afternoon when they were caught in the cross-fire of a drive-by shooting in Pacoima, authorities said.
The three were sitting in a parked car in the 10900 block of Glenoaks Boulevard when a car pulled up alongside and shots were fired at a house next to them, said Officer Don Cox of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The 25-year-old mother was shot in the shoulder, and shrapnel hit her scalp. Her 2-year-old daughter suffered a bullet wound to her chin. The two were hospitalized in serious condition. An 8-year-old girl also suffered shrapnel wounds and was treated at the scene and released to her family, Cox said.
Police maintained a perimeter around the neighborhood Sunday evening in hopes of catching the gunman or finding the car. Cox said there were no suspect or vehicle descriptions.
