How Are Things Going With the Dodgers?

Why did The Times take out the last line of Ross Newhan’s story on Gary Sheffield on May 8? I mean, after he wrote, “If it’s a lot quieter in the Dodger clubhouse, the lineup has been a lot quieter as well” there should have followed, “But it’s well worth it.”

For those of you surprised at how well the Dodger pitching is faring, don’t fret.

Pretty soon Darren Dreifort will be back and everything will return to normal.

Kaz Ishii’s sixth win is the best thing for the Dodgers in 2002. The Japanese stone lantern that is situated just north of Parking Lot 37 has been the icon of the Dodgers since 1962. This symbolic stone lantern may be just what the Dodgers need as they celebrate their 40th anniversary at Chavez Ravine.

Over the last few years, I slowly accepted the new Dodger ownership, its dumb trades, management changes and have sat in the field level. On Cinco de Mayo I joined my son’s Little League team in the right-field pavilion, my first time out there in 20 years. We all know the hot dog lines are atrocious and we have to accept that, but the bathrooms stink worse than any stadium in the state and the water barely drips out of the faucets.

Dodger Stadium can’t hold a candle to the Coliseum, where we can attend USC football in the Grand Old Lady (clean and respectful) with all her charm. Fox has blown this deal and has lost many fans who won’t be back. My heart no longer bleeds blue.
