Driver Shot Dead in Botched Drive-By
The driver in a botched drive-by shooting was fatally shot in the chest when his passenger fired through the driver’s-side window, authorities said Friday.
Jorge Lombera, 22, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Martin Luther King Hospital, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Roberta Granek.
Deputies arrested the alleged gunman, whose name was not released.
The men were allegedly attempting a drive-by shooting in the 11000 block of South Western Avenue when the passenger fired once toward the driver’s-side window.
The intended victim was not injured, officials said.
