District Gets County Loan to Pay Its Teachers
A $50-million advance from the county to help the Oakland School District pay its teachers will probably be approved this week, county officials said.
The district’s cash shortage is unrelated to its having overspent by $37 million last year after gravely miscalculating its budget, officials said.
