McAllister Is Questionable

New Orleans running back Deuce McAllister is questionable for Sunday’s game against Cleveland because of a sprained right ankle.

McAllister, the NFC’s leading rusher, was injured against Atlanta on Sunday.

Detroit receiver Az-Zahir Hakim will not need surgery for his season-ending hip injury.

Hakim was expected to have an MRI exam on his dislocated and fractured left hip Monday. The Lions declined to say when results of the test were expected.

Hakim, 25, was injured against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Green Bay’s rookie running back Najeh Davenport won’t play against Tampa Bay on Sunday and might need season-ending surgery on his broken left eye socket.

Right guard Marco Rivera might be sidelined Sunday because of a sprained right knee.

Both were hurt against Minnesota on Sunday.

Tampa Bay cornerback Ronde Barber had surgery on his broken left thumb and is questionable against Green Bay.

Washington Redskin Coach Steve Spurrier announced his fourth starting quarterback change of the season, benching Shane Matthews for either Danny Wuerffel or rookie Patrick Ramsey. Spurrier said he plans to use the latter two quarterbacks the rest of the season, possibly in the same game.... Redskin safety Sam Shade was put on injured reserve because of a herniated disk in his neck that could force him to retire.
