Earthshaking News
“Studies See Big Quake as More Likely” (Nov. 17) had a subhead reading, “Magnitude 7 or higher temblor on San Andreas fault in Inland Empire, Palm Springs may occur sooner than thought.” Really! The 74 paleoseismologists presumably responsible for that finding should have saved time and listened to a mere biologist from UCLA who years ago set the science for earthquake prognostication. He observed: “The longer it’s been since the last, the nearer it is to the next.”
