Community organizers have scheduled a meeting Thursday to discuss proposals to expand the 101 Freeway and the impact the plans could have on neighborhoods in the Cahuenga Pass and Hollywood Hills.

Forty miles of the freeway corridor, from downtown Los Angeles to Thousand Oaks, are the subject of a study sponsored by the state Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The study is considering freeway widening and double-decking as options for easing congestion.

Officials from Caltrans, the MTA and the city of Los Angeles have been invited to the forum.
